Are you interested in learning how to paint with oil but not sure where to start? In this course, students learn the fundamental techniques of oil painting. Did you know that oil paint is just pigment suspended in drying oil? It is one of the most versatile paint mediums; able to achieve a range of effects from thin glazing to heavy impasto. Imagine setting up your painting easel in our historic Bunk House Studio as you learn about how to prepare your palate, mix colors, and learn the fundamentals of painting. Students can expect to learn about shapes, form, color, tone, and light. Our instructors teach to ability which means this course is open to beginner-intermediate painters. We strive to create a supportive culture and offer individualized feedback as well as time for group demonstrations. At the end of the course, students can expect to have a sample of test paintings exhibiting a range of methods and techniques.
