Among other things, Penny is a homeschooling mom, craftsperson and homesteader, who is inspired by the traditions of other cultures to revitalize and share skills useful to everyday life. In an effort to deepen her connection to the land and limit her participation in consumer culture, she strives to grow, craft and participate in seasonal harvests for as many of her needs and wants as possible. She is also grateful to be part of a generous community of talented makers and growers with whom she trades skills, ideas and wares. She uses hand harvested resources from the forest, letting the qualities of varying materials dictate their use. You can find her teaching children and adults all over Vermont and beyond; in private homes, on farms, at her studio in the Northeast Kingdom, at art centers and traditional skills schools and gatherings.
Pamela is a craft-based artist working primarily in clay and handwoven fibers. She maintains a studio in Barre City and exhibits regularly throughout Vermont and New England.

Jessica is originally from Alaska, but has lived all over the west coast in places like San Francisco and Portland, Oregon. She now resides in Vermont with her husband and golden retriever. A programmer by trade, she runs an independent game studio with her husband. When she’s not coding, you can find her knitting.
Jessica learned how to crochet as a child, but knitting never stuck. As an adult, she attempted learning how to knit again, and luckily this time it all came together! She now tries to bring her joy and knowledge of knitting to other people, giving patience to those who aren’t getting it quite yet. With time, she believes anyone can learn to knit, and that it can become a joyful and enriching hobby that will last a lifetime.

Daisy Hutter is beyond excited to be back at SCS for another year of teaching! In May of 2022, she graduated with a degree in Art Education from the University of Vermont. This fall, she moved from Burlington to Shelburne and quickly became involved in the community. Be sure to visit Daisy's booth at the Shelburne Farmers Market on Saturdays where she sells her handmade jewelry.
Daisy is a mixed media artist who specializes in collage and sculpture. She is most inspired by found materials, including environmental themes in much of her work. She is also a participating artist in Cow Parade 2023 benefiting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. As a teaching artist, Daisy loves sharing her passion for art with the students she teaches.
AnnMarie is a mostly self-taught crafter who has worked in many media. A children’s book editor and writer, she moved to Vermont from Brooklyn in 2021. For many years, she sewed and sold sock monkeys for a small NYC-based nonprofit that organized fine art and craft exhibitions and workshops for underserved artists, including seniors, those in recovery, and the unhoused. She also once organized a community art project for kids that involved weaving on old CDs with recycled yarn.
These days she experiments with needle and wet felting, knits, and weaves a bit. She is excited to join the fiber community at the Craft School, where she aims to learn as much as share her skills. She lives in Shelburne with her two kids, one husband, and a very old cat.
