Hi! Can't wait to get back into art! I was a teacher for camp there many years ago! I managed many of the paint your own pottery studios that used to be everywhere. Since then I worked in vintage clothing and did design for Pottery barn. Now I am a mom and wife who recently moved to Charlotte! I can't wait to reconnect with the Shelburne Craft School and remember how to throw clay!
Executive Director, Shelburne Craft School.
As a Shelburne resident and lifelong learner, designer and crafter I can’t imagine a more perfect setting to connect people with a creative life. I am a passionate believer in the power of working with our hands, fostering exploration, and a community-focused teaching philosophy. I am thrilled to combine my experience in educational nonprofit leadership with my love and dedication to this community.
I was born and raised well below the Mason Dixon in the state of Alabama and have slowly made my way up north following graduate school, living in D.C. for a few years before landing in Vermont in the summer of 2016. Soon after moving, I quickly fell in love with the rich sense of community and culture that the place offers and have happily called Vermont my home ever sense.
My undergraduate coursework focused heavily on studio art while also balancing a good dose of performing art--dance in particular. Now I spend my days working as an occupational therapist with a focus on spinal cord injury rehabilitation. However, I still hold the creative arts closely as a hobby and passion and look forward to exploration and education through the courses offered at Shelburne Craft School.
Adventurer, doctor and maker. I came to Vermont by way of NYC where I worked in a spinal rehab clinic affiliated with the Hospital for Special Surgery. I own Balance Chiropractic and Active Therapy in Shelburne; we are a patient-centered practice that offers hands-on spinal care through soft-tissue treatment, spinal and extremity joint mobilization/manipulation, focused exercise prescription and nutritional advice. I spend my time outside the practice mountain biking, skiing, rock and ice climbing, adventuring with my wife, Claire, and working with clay, wood and painting.
