Hello, I was a teacher for camp there many, many years ago. My daughter now goes to the same camp! I enjoy all the classes I take and the school is always familiar and inviting.

I live in Hinesburg with my husband and cat. I work on projects that address climate change. I love to do art because it’s relaxing. I need to learn some of the basics of watercolor so looking forward to the watercolor class!

28, VT local I have a very challenging and technical job that I love, but I have found that an unfortunate byproduct of a highly technical focused life for me has lead to a loss of connection with my creative side.. Which I do not dig, so, I am making a point to refocus time and energy into igniting creativity and finding a better balance! I’m a beginner(ish) to oil, I have painted watercolors for years, and have dabbled in pastels and drawing. Now I’m looking to expand my skill set and try a new medium. I am very much looking forward to joining the community! :)

Charlotte is a local painter from Burlington, Vermont. She works with acrylic and loves finding inspiration from the things she sees around her. Her studio is located in the Soda Plant in Burlington.

I'm a painter and artist's model. I recently moved to Shelburne from Cape Cod. I studied Fiber Arts and Painting at the Swain School of Design a long time ago. Recently I lived for 4 years in Provincetown where I concentrated on my painting and studied with many local artists. I am loving life in Vermont.

As a Shelburne resident and lifelong learner, designer and crafter I can’t imagine a more perfect setting to connect people with a creative life. I am a passionate believer in the power of working with our hands, fostering exploration, and a community-focused teaching philosophy. I am thrilled to combine my experience in educational nonprofit leadership with my love and dedication to this community.

I have often said that my greatest strength as an artist is my very low standards! I love learning new things, and the best way I have found is to get comfortable with being bad at them. My lack of focus means that whenever I have the opportunity to try something new, I jump at the chance, and I am always excited to pass on whatever I have learned! I have been making art in all kinds of media for most of my life. After growing up in Washington, DC, I moved here and graduated from the University of Vermont in 2013 with degrees in Studio Art and Classical Civilizations. I have worked in clay, paint, charcoal, ink, glass, fiber, wood, watercolor, and anything else I can think of! I work as a baker and, occasionally, as a yoga teacher and live in South Burlington with my spouse, our cats, and arguably too many plants.

I have been a handspinner since 2019, and now I've acquainted myself with the properties of wool I am ready to dive into weaving. I believe crafting using natural materials is an act of magical transformation and essential to the human relationship with the physical world.

Curtis Fontaine grew up in Exeter NH and began learning ceramics from Ron Burke, Chris Archer and Sarah Burns. He continued his passion for clay at Skidmore College, managing their ceramics studio for two years and studying under Regis Brodie and Leslie Ferst. After school he moved on to an apprenticeship under Toshiko Takaezu. Living and working with her he learned the philosophies and practices of a natural artist. By the time he was finished with the apprenticeship he set out to strengthen his ties with nature. First he worked at Saratoga Apple for Christine and Nate Darrow and Joseph Garricks. Then on Masala Farm as an animal caretaker for Survir Saran and Charlie Burd, where he took care of alpacas, sheep, goats, ducks, chickens, geese and more. In 2019 his work was selected by Todd Merrill to be carried in his gallery in NYC, South Hampton and around the country. Curtis tries to continue Toshiko’s practices by balancing his time between ceramics, nature and cooking.
