Jonathan is a professor emeritus from Saint Michael’s College, Colchester, Vermont where he coordinated the arts education program and taught courses on the creative process, integrated curriculum, and aesthetic/holistic learning. In the fall of 2019 he was invited to be a visiting professor at Doshisha University in Kyoto where he was asked to integrate the arts into a graduate and undergraduate holistic education program.
Jonathan enjoys designing and guiding trips for others. Recently he co-led two Saint Michael’s College study trips to Kyoto. In the past he has led student study trips to Italy, Greece, and England, currently leads walking tours in Vermont through Country Walkers, and has been a tour guide at Shelburne Farms for 10 years. He is a co-editor for the International Journal for Art Education. Jonathan actively maintains his artistic identity as a potter here at the Shelburne Craft School and through drawing, watercolor, acrylic, and assemblage.
