Introduction

In this hands-on firing intensive course, we will be learning about contemporary and ancient methods for decorating and firing pottery. We will complete 4 firings (2 raku and 2 pit) which will allow us to go into greater depth of the chemistry, alchemy, art and science of low fired pottery.
Students should bring 4-10 bisque fired pieces for this class, additional pieces will be available for experimentation. Students should also be prepared to spend most of the class time outdoors in early December, and should also bring masks for smoke.
