Introduction
Join painter Sage Tucker-Ketcham for this in-person weekly studio session. This course is for advanced painters who have been independently painting for at least 5 years and have a studio practice. Each week student’s will bring a painting to start or work on and the imagery or theme they are currently investigating. We will use traditional oil paints and mediums when proper ventilation (outside) is available. Each week will start with an optional critique and end with a group meeting for the last 30 mins. Sage will work with each person on- on-one to set personal goals and expectations of work. Sage will also be available to discuss gallery representation and guide each artist to build a body of work and help set professional goals.
Sage Tucker-Ketcham’s career spans over two decades with a background in studio art, education and arts administration. She holds her BFA from Maine College of Art and her MFA from Mass Art. Originally influenced by abstract expressionism, her early works are about self-expression and physically working out ideas on large canvases. Her current work focuses more on context and about controlled expression in creating complex intimate moments. Sage is currently represented by Edgewater Gallery, Woodstock Gallery and Portland Art Gallery and is in many private art collections.
