Introduction
Interested in learning how to work with stained glass, but not sure how to get started? This course introduces students to the Tiffany Copper Foil method of making a small stained glass window. Did you know that the use of stained glass windows in the home dates back to 1st century Rome? Since then architects and artists such as Frank Lloyd Wright and Marc Chagall have romanticized purpose of stained glass windows as something both useful and beautiful. Imagine spending two days in our historic Bunk House connecting with this rare craft and creating a memorable piece to adorn your own home. Students will begin with a small practice window to learn how to select glass, grind it, foil it and solder it. This will be followed by a small final independent project.
This is a weekend workshop.
