Daisy Hutter is beyond excited to be back at SCS for another year of teaching! In May of 2022, she graduated with a degree in Art Education from the University of Vermont. This fall, she moved from Burlington to Shelburne and quickly became involved in the community. Be sure to visit Daisy's booth at the Shelburne Farmers Market on Saturdays where she sells her handmade jewelry. Daisy is a mixed media artist who specializes in collage and sculpture. She is most inspired by found materials, including environmental themes in much of her work. She is also a participating artist in Cow Parade 2023 benefiting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. As a teaching artist, Daisy loves sharing her passion for art with the students she teaches.

Mike first started woodworking at age ten with the help of a mentor. During high school, he worked as a wooden boat-building apprentice at Arey's Pond Boat Yard on Cape Cod. Being from Vermont, it was natural for him to attend the Vermont Woodworking School. He now holds a degree in Fine Woodworking and Furniture Design. Mike first starting sharing his woodworking skills in the summer of 2017 at Cape Cod Sea Camps and spent two summers as the Woodworking Department Head. It was there, on The Cape, that he found his love of passing on this craft. Returning to Vermont, he started as a kids woodworking teacher in the early winter of 2020 at SCS and has taught kids and adults classes since then. Mike is the renter monitor on Tuesday nights and is responsible for woodshop maintenance. His certifications include: American Red Cross Adult/Pediatric First Aid and CPR. When away from SCS, Mike can be found enjoying and gathering inspiration from the mountains of New England.

I have been a student of clay since 2014. In the fall of 2016, shortly after moving to Vermont, I joined the vibrant Craft School clay community where my practice thrived under the mentorship (and friendship) of Rik Rolla. In 2019, I began working out of a private studio in Burlington where I make functional pots for every day use. I look forward to connecting with others through this special & grounding craft. When I’m not working with clay, you might find me tending to my garden, cozied up on the couch with a good book, or hanging out with my cat, Penelope.
