Introduction
Summer Art Around the world is a weekly Saturday morning course that introduces beauty of different cultures to participants.
Ritual and ceremonial masks are an essential feature of the traditional culture of the peoples of a part of Sub-Saharan Africa.(wikipedia) In this workshop, each participant will create a unique mask that symbolizes their inner selves by using various materials.
The length of this project time is 2+ hours and participants might need to finish it at home.
Children ages 9+ are able to attend without a parent or guardian, although families are welcome to join together. (all family members who are attending need to register.) Children ages 5-8 may attend with a parent or guardian. This is an in-person offering that will likely take place indoors, although we will move outdoors if the weather cooperates. Unfortunately we are not able to make 'take home kits' for these courses.
