Come join us for our Kids Summer Woodworking Program!
We will host three creative, fun filled days offering students the opportunity to focus on multicultural arts and explore topics of diversity, racism and inclusion. Students will be introduced to non-western art making techniques followed by art projects and discussions to share our thoughts and ideas.
Example projects and topics include ancient and contemporary art in East, South Asia, and the Middle East and students will be introduced to Islamic and Buddhism art and their basic theories. This summer program will encourage students to see and appreciate the diversity and beauty of different traditions in the world.
Examples of projects and topics to be covered in the course include:
-Islamic art, Calligraphy inspired by Islamic Tughra
-Buddhism and Hinduism art, Mandala drawing with pen and ink.
-East Asian art, Fan drawing using sumi ink, Lotus Lantern
Ages (9-11). Students who will turn 9 by June 1st, 2021 are welcome to sign-up.
