Introduction
In this two part drawing workshop students will explore various ways to generate visual ideas, create abstract drawings using graphite (or other dry mediums) on paper, and work in a series of 2-3 small format drawings, to develop and strengthen their chosen idea. Students will create 8-12 drawings in total.
Visual art is a way we can communicate without using spoken language. Working in a series will help to better communicate each students developing idea without using words. Student drawings will be shared at the end of
each workshop, perhaps with a friendly critique.
Students will be encouraged to further develop their work at home by creating an additional 2-3 drawings based on their previous workshop drawings, and share with the class at the beginning of the second workshop.
